About Us
The Escalon Cougars Youth Football & Cheer Organization provides the children of Escalon with a healthy, supervised sports activity - while at the same time promoting positive character traits. We are operated entirely by volunteers. Every activity, including our board of directors, coaching staff, field set up, gate entry, scoreboard/clock running, game announcing, concessions, merchandising, fundraising and events and more occurs through the efforts of these volunteers. It is because of our parents and volunteers that the program continues to prosper.
Coaching
Head Coaches of the shall consist of a Varsity Head Coach, Junior Varsity Head Coach, Novice Head Coach and Junior Novice Head Coach, who must be 21 years of age or over, and their assistants must be at least 18 years of age or over. The Board of Directors will select the Head Coaches, only after all applications have been reviewed and presented to the Executive Board by the Athletic Director and Cheer Advisor. The Board will then conduct interviews for all candidates. Upon completion of interviews, the Executive Board will vote for the Head Coach positions.
Volunteering
Escalon Cougars Youth Football and Cheer is operated entirely by volunteers. Every activity that is part of our program occurs through the efforts of these volunteers, and it is because of our parents and volunteers that the Outlaws program continues to prosper.
Governing
Our governing Board of Directors are volunteers elected to a one year term by the previous Board of Directors. They are responsible for the management of all operations within the program. This includes oversight of all volunteer networks, fundraising, insuring the integrity of the program, and upholding its by-laws. Other Board members are appointed as needed for a one-year term per the by-laws.
Our League
This is a new league created for "small town" football. The league formerly known as MYLAC has merged with several teams from the central valley to form this new league. The M.V.F.L. is essentially built on the principles of "one town- one team", friendly, small town competition. All of these teams are well established, well respected, feeder programs to their local high schools, much like we are.
